Mindanao - The Wodeef Farm in Mindinao

The Wodeef Farm in Davao City was bought in December, 1999, as a gift from one of Wodeef's donors. The Farm consists of 3-1/2 hectacres (approximately 9 acres) which were bare in 1999 except for a pond and 5 fruit trees. Since 2000, Wodeef has planted and begun to harvest the following:
- 24 different varieties of fruit trees, including jackfruit, mangosteen, rambutan, lansones, guyabana, atis, mango, coconut, marant, star apple, avocado, pili nut, pomelo, tiasa, eba, duhat, cacao, coffee, banana, papaya, breadfruit, sineguelas.
- 9 different varieties of hardwood trees, including molave, mahogany, lawaan, apitong, acacia, narra, kamagong, pine trees, African tulip,
- 3 different varieties of softwood trees, including bacan, ilangilong, mlingon,
- 2 rice fields
- Plants, including kangkong plants, cocoa, coffee, peanuts
- A fish pond with tilapia
- Vegetable gardens with eggplant, alugbati, ginankong, tomato, pechay, mahunggay, radish, ampalaya, string beans, okra, aatola
- Livestock consisting of 5 goats, 1 pig, 2 roosters, 5 dogs, a cat, 2 caribou, approximately 18 hens and 18 chicks.
The Farm oversees and manages a Seedling Program, funded by a grant, where farmers from the area are given 250 seedlings to plant as crops, which will give them a steady income.
